The UKCRC Tissue Directory is now Live!

The UKCRC Tissue Directory is now live for medical researchers wanting to source human tissue for their studies. The Directory is intended to be a first port of call for researchers needing human samples; it has functionality to search for both collections and capabilities. This means if it doesn’t return what you need you can search for platforms with the potential to source it.

It’s as simple as 1, 2, 3..

1. Search for the type of tissue you want (see our page on SNOMED coding for help with this: What is SNOMED-CT) you can also search using our helpful disease list. Tick the capabilities box if you want to search for services.

2. View Biobanks that store or can collect the samples – you can add them to your contact list by clicking contact.

3. Message the biobank(s) about your research using the contact list. They manage all requests themselves on a case by case basis.

The Directory will grow over time and we welcome any feedback you may have. We need to work together to optimise the use of existing capabilities in the UK. Register now if you have something to offer the research community!
