UK Biobanks now in the BBMRI-ERIC Directory

UK sample resources now in the BBMRI-ERIC Directory

UKCRC Tissue Directory registered sample resources are now discover-able in the BBMRI-ERIC Directory.

The UKCRC TDCC represents the UK within Biobanking and BioMolecular Resources Research Infrastructure – European Research Infrastructure Consortium (BBMRI-ERIC). As part of the UKCRC TDCC’s continued commitment to prevent duplication of effort, all UKCRC Tissue Directory registered sample resources will be automatically registered in the BBMRI-ERIC Directory. The step will also continue to promote the visibility of UK human tissue samples, for use in high quality research.

The BBMRI-ERIC Directory, which is one of the largest international biobanking catalogues, has recently been upgraded to version 3.1. This coincides with the launch of the new BBMRI-ERIC Negotiator tool which is a communication platform to help researchers link with sample resources.

BBMRI-ERIC is one of the largest research infrastructures for health in Europe today. It provides services and expertise for its members, including expert centres, events, and the directory. They have also coordinated a number of research projects within Europe and beyond. The UKCRC TDCC engages with this network via ethical, legal and societal issues (ELSI), IT and Quality common service groups. Visit their website to find out more about getting involved with this network.
